Medicol Congress 2025

The Medicol 2025 conference challenges us to consider the medicine of tomorrow. By exploring applications dedicated to communication, we will see how doctors and therapists can use new technologies for their patients.

To better adapt to patients' expectations, it is also important to better understand their functional abilities. Movement studies, particularly gait analysis, are easier to perform today and pave the way for a new generation of functional assessments. This diagnostic step, within a more comprehensive framework, strengthens the climate of trust between doctors and patients, allows for documentation of follow-up care, and raises patient awareness in their care.

These new horizons are made possible thanks in particular to tools developed at EPFL and we are pleased to welcome this year the engineers who developed them and who will explain to us the methods and future developments.

The afternoon is dedicated to back problems, which will be addressed from various angles: first, how to make the correct diagnosis and which examinations to perform; the role of the chiropractor, the importance of postural assessment, and the usefulness of a functional biomechanical approach. An invitation to revisit conservative treatment in order to offer innovative solutions.

We will then examine the potential of multidisciplinary care in a center dedicated to pain treatment. Finally, we will examine the various interventional procedures currently available and the assessments that can be used to optimize their results.

A final round table will clarify the respective indications for each of these techniques and will allow us to better understand their complementarity.
