New doctor: Dr. Elena Albertazzi

We are pleased to welcome a new physician to the Ouchy Orthopedic Center, Dr. Elena Albertazzi. Dr. Albertazzi studied medicine at the University of Turin, Italy, where she graduated in 2016. The following year, she moved to Switzerland to pursue her specialization in orthopedics. For the first three years, Dr. Albertazzi worked as a resident physician in general surgery in the emergency department and in orthopedics at the Fribourg Hospital (HFR) in Tavel. To further develop her expertise in traumatology, she then spent three years at the Thun Hospital, before completing her orthopedic training with two additional years at Sonnenhof Hospital in Bern. Alongside her hospital work, Dr. Albertazzi conducts research on spinal surgery within the Sonnenhof Hospital research group, as well as in the field of sports medicine. For several seasons, she has been the referring physician for various sports clubs. Passionate about orthopedics, Dr. Elena Albertazzi will join the Ouchy Orthopedic Centre in September 2025 to pursue her specialization in orthopedic surgery and traumatology, while continuing her advanced interdisciplinary training in sports and exercise medicine (SEMS).
