Sports medicine
We welcome a new doctor to the Ouchy Orthopedic Centre, Dr. Amélie Ammann.
She began her training in general internal medicine at the Centre Hospitalier du Valais Romand (CHVR). During these first two years, Dr. Amélie Ammann worked in the emergency department, which introduced her to mountain accidents. This experience motivated her to pursue training in mountain and expedition medicine, culminating in an international diploma in 2021.
She then decided to take a six-month sabbatical during which she traveled and earned her nutritionist diploma in Geneva. Upon her return, Dr. Amélie Ammann continued her training at the Clinique Romande de Réadaptation in Sion, in the musculoskeletal department. Her training also includes courses in manual medicine (SAMM) and sports medicine (SEMS), completed in 2024 and 2025 respectively.
In order to further develop her skills in sports medicine, Dr. Amélie Ammann will join the Ouchy Orthopedic Centre in November 2025.
