Our training physicians present a series of clinical examinations related to musculoskeletal problems frequently encountered in orthopedics. In this fourth video of our series, Dr. Cédric Ngbilo, a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation and sports medicine at SSMS, discusses anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears.

Dr. Cédric Ngbilo, a Frenchman of Congolese origin, studied medicine in France before specializing in orthopedic surgery in Switzerland. He left the university hospital setting as a clinical head in a ligament knee surgery unit to undertake a one-year fellowship at the FIFA Medical Center of Excellence in Lyon with Dr. Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet, an internationally renowned knee surgery specialist, with whom he also published several scientific articles, notably in the American Journal of Sports Medicine.

To broaden his surgical practice, he completed a second fellowship with Dr. Ronny Lopes, a specialist in foot and ankle surgery for athletes, with whom he also published articles in Orthopaedics & Traumatology Surgery & Research.

Having always been interested in sport, he made use of his sports medicine degree when he was commissioned by the French Football Federation and the Swiss Football Association to be the doctor for the national junior teams.

Sharing his knowledge and achievements being an integral part of his values, it was only natural that he turned to teaching medicine and nutrition in Switzerland and abroad.
